How to Rename Photos with Sequential Numbers in Bulk
IMG_4821.jpg and DSC_0184.jpg are poor delivery names. A numbered naming rule creates predictable order across product catalogs, galleries, client handoffs and archives.

Zero-padding keeps lexical and numeric order aligned. Files named 001, 002 and 010 sort cleanly, while 1, 2 and 10 can produce inconsistent ordering in some systems.
Combine the index with meaningful context
A useful pattern can be product-{index}, gallery-{index}, or {date}-{index}. Batch Img Tools also supports dimensions, format, output name and selected JPEG metadata tokens.
- Choose the sequence start
- Choose the number of padding digits
- Preview the resulting filenames
- Avoid overwriting collisions
Save the rule as a Recipe
If every delivery uses the same naming convention, save the setup so the next folder starts with the correct rule immediately.
